This week you’ve finally really settled into using your Baby Einstein gym. Things are more interesting than they were a week ago and you’re legs are in full gear, as you bounce your way to getting stronger.
Shark-mouthed Wolf cub
Watching you chew on this toy puts fear into our heart. You’re at the early stages of teething and while it’s a little cute, your ferocity and intensity reminds us to watch our fingers sometime around Christmas.
Dragon Boat Day
Today we took you to the Dragon Boat Festival in St. Paul, Minnesota. Grandma Belinda and Grandpa Boyd are visiting and we all took turns passing you around. As each airhorn sounded for the race to begin, you twisted around to face the lake and watch the boats. Not sure if you really understood what was happening, but other than the heat, you seemed to enjoy the day a lot.
The Solid Food Goodness
You really like solid food; some, much more than others. Today while I was feeding you prunes & oatmeal, you attempted to take charge of the feeding.
You also couldn’t contain your excitement for every bite as you “yummmm’d” through the entire jar. I present the evidence:
Campbell, Baby of Distinction
Here’s a couple of videos that show some great qualities of your personality.
In the first, you are giggling at mommy who entertains you off-screen.
Then show what a champion you are at eating your solid food. One of your favorites? Carrots!

Giggletron, the Super Baby
Tonight we did a little activity because you were moderately grumpy. After imitating me by screeching every time I made a “pfbbbt” sound, you were absolutely delighted to do a little (safe) bit of flying, superhero style.
Mr. Raspberries
Tonight, after your bath, you gave us a fine showing of your latest “skill”; you did this a lot this weekend and now, probably a lot more now that you know it’s funny.
Chuck Norris, beware!
This week you started a massive amount of kicking. In the midst of showing me your karate moves, you also started “squeaking” and “chirping” for the lack of better words. Pretty funny. And not only that, your dexterity is getting better as you roll, grab and touch things far away from you. You’re becoming a dangerous little dude.
(Best part of this video? The little “heh” that you exclaim at the end)
Missing you and your mommy a lot this week, since you’re off to a family reunion while I am working. Have fun and be safe!
BATH TIME!
You enjoy baths probably more than any other part of the day. Here you languish, giggle, entertain mommy and eat your fist with casual abandon. It’s become a part of your nightly routine and mommy does an awesome job of it. We just had to document it tonight, because you were being extra funny.
Farmer’s Market
We took you to the Farmer’s Market today in the Mill District. You sported your brand new hat and turned heads everywhere we went. Seriously.
In fact, you were SO happy today that you laughed so hard and vigorously in Target (in the Nicolett Mall) that TWO different ladies stopped to say what a wonderful baby you were. You are a charmer, for sure.
