The Weekend Before Halloween

Well, we certainly packed in the pre-Halloween activities this weekend getting the most out of our costumes. You were a raccoon, Mommy was a wolf (or perhaps, generic mommy critter) and Daddy was an Animal Control Officer.

Hey! That’s MY gig!

We started Saturday by leaving the house late for Mall of America where we THOUGHT there was going to be Trick-or-Treating like last year. However, it was only a blacklight/dance party for kids, but we still made the most of it. We walked around the mall, Daddy bought a hat for his costume, we danced a little and still had a great time. Of course we also visited your favorite place, the Lego Store! When we got home you crawled up on your big chair and let us know you wanted to read.

And this little piggy went out for Halloween…

On Sunday we scooted off (in costume again) to the Minnesota Zoo where we walked and got treats. At first you weren’t very happy, but soon you got into the spirit. We saw a skeleton under the water (a diver that was dressed up for Halloween), walked through the Minnesota exhibit where you punched buttons to make owl sounds and wolf sounds, we had lunch and you tried to wrestle a banana from Mommy (almost succeeding), then we walked all the way over to the Farm where you saw some crazy scarecrows, you played in the pumpkin garden and thrilled when seeing live chickens, pigs and rabbits. You also tired yourself out in a hay maze (probably the most fun you had all weekend).

Catch us if you can, Animal Control Officer!
Why are the fish not scared???
Who you callin’ a varmint?
The wolf says… AGAIN! AGAIN!
Banana thief!
I know this scares daddy…
Oh, I WILL find you punkin’ seed…
I’ve discovered… DIRT!
Dead end again?

We knew you were tired, because the big blanket we bought at the zoo (we forgot ours) became your cuddle buddy. As we were leaving you were beside yourself to see pumpkins again, so we let you out of the stroller to sit on every pumpkin along the way.

Ok. I surrender to the blanky.
Let me just… UMPH… em… gimme a second.
Yep. I am sittin’ on punkins again.

This past week:

  • You were watching our President on TV and you said, “OBAMA!” clear as a bell.
  • You have started asking for your “blanky” and when you get it you say, “cuffy coseeee!” for Comfy-Cozy.
  • You’ve also found a way to make noise on Mommy’s computer, even when it’s locked which delighted you (video to prove it)
